£2,500 was pledged for the Royal Cornwall Hospital surgical robot arm appeal and £2,500 also went to the Sunrise Appeal for cancer treatment. £2,000 went to the Merlin Centre for neuro therapy, £2,000 to MND Cornwall supporting local people with Motor Neurone Disease, £1,500 for the Sowenna Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit at Bodmin Hospital, £1,500 to RABI which supports the farming community and £1,500 to Concern Wadebridge.
£1,000 went to each of Penhaligons Friends, Cornwall Mind, St. Petrocs, The Keep (Bodmin), HFT Wadebridge, St. Minver Scouts and Wadebridge Scouts.
Smaller donations were £550 to Bodmin Band, £500 to Devon & Cornwall 4x4, £500 to Friends of Pencarrow and £455 to Cornwall Ambulance Service. The remainder was retained for future support of local charities.
An additional £744 was added to the 2024 total from previous reserves, making the total available for donations to charities this year a nice round £29,000.
