President Ceri chose as her President’s Night a murder mystery on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, with steam and smoke and everything. Grabbing a drink and a pasty on the way in at Bodmin General station, Rotarians and friends & family found their allocated seats, pulled out drinks and nibbles from cool bags (or uncool ones for that matter) and were regaled with short scenes setting up all the characters with clear motives for murder.
After a terrified shriek over the Tannoy, we were invited to inspect the murder scene and then decide whodunnit. (Or alternatively, stay in our seats and make a guess.) Prizes were on offer to two people drawn from the entries correctly identifying the culprit. (Spoiler alert: it wasn’t all the suspects. This is Bodmin, not the Orient Express.)
