Last Thursday saw a good attendance at the Wadebridge Rotary weekly meeting, to hear Sue Dewhirst speak about CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young - and her fund, CRY for Matthew.
You hear about this on the news when apparently fit and healthy footballers suddenly collapse on the pitch, but 12 young people (aged 14-35) die every week of undiagnosed heart conditions, young men and women about equally.
CRY for Matthew is a fund that Sue set up following the sudden death of her son Matthew, and aims to screen 400 young people every year, because if a problem is found, something can be done about it.
