New energy-saving stove for Ugandan school

Our club has donated funds to build this stove at Biwanga Primary School in Uganda

Clay stove at Biwanga Primary School, Uganda.

Prior to the introduction of clay or brick built stoves which retain heat and are hugely more energy-efficient,  most cooking was done on open wood fires.   Not only is this resource in short supply, wood fires are also more hazardous and not 'friendly' for our environment.

Our club has supported this primary school previously and so we have a 'track record' and direct contact with them.   As with any charitable venture, it's essential to know how our hard-earned funds are being used, and the benefits that are brought.
