Youth Service

Supporting our young people has always been very important to Torrington Rotary.    Generally we do this by assisting the local schools in competitions, but we also work with Torriyouth and charitable organisations in north Devon.

Rotary Great Britain & Ireland organises several youth competitions and many, such as Young Chef, Young Writer, Young Musician etc., are run in conjunction with our local Great Torrington Academy.   In 2025 we were delighted to support the Young Apprentice scheme-  the photo above shows club President Martyn with members of Torriyouth who are working in Rotary's 2026 Young Apprentice Scheme.

YOUTH COMPETITIONS FOR 2026 -  our club has organised local heats for several  Rotary competitions during the past few months, including Young Chef, Young Writer, Young Musician (Instrumental and Vocal sections), Young Artist and Young Photographer  and we are delighted that 3 local youngsters have made it through to the District final of Young Vocalist, Young Artist and Young Photographer.    The finals are being held on 22 Feb in Newton Abbot... watch our website to find out results!
