In darkest Tamerton Foliot there used to be a children’s play area. Sadly the equipment was removed and nature quickly built a jungle where once was a Jungle Gym.
Later a group, Friends of Tamerton Old Playground was established, consisting of Tamerton Foliot Village Conservation Society, the local authority, (via Councillor Mark Deacon) and Roborough Rotary to raise funds to return the play area to it’s former glory.
Sufficient funds have now been raised to clear the area of debris, plant a wildflower meadow and install seating and a picnic area. Representatives of the group (appropriately socially distanced) met recently to discuss the implementation of plans and to receive a cheque from Roborough Rotary, which included a contribution from the international Rotary Foundation.
When the project is complete we will be sure to display the results!
