MEMBERS TREASURE HUNT:  2024

CHRISTMAS COLLECTIONS: Many thanks to everyone who generously supported or collection, which is our main money raising event of the year.  This enables our club to  support many groups and individuals who are in need of help, both locally and internationally.

POLIO : Wed. 15th Nov. 2023 - Purple Crocus planting at St. Petrocs Church in recognition of the Eradication of Polio Worldwide.  Approx. 20 children from Beacon Academy School, gathered with tools to plant 4000 bulbs.

The purple crocus is a symbol of Rotary's worldwide campaign to eradicate polio, with its colour representing the dye used to mark the finger of a child who has been immunised.

LEST WE FORGET - Sunday 12th Nov. 2024

The weather really wasn't the best today when our President, Neil Carter, and Terri Young from Bodmin Inner Wheel were among the community orgnisation representatives laying wreaths at the Remembrance Day Service in Priory Park. 

It was heartening to see so many people turn out to remember the sacrifices so many have made, and continue to make, to protect our freedom. Lest we forget.

SATURDAY 23rd Sept.... Disaster collectons:   To help both the Morrocan & Libian disasters   -   Bodmin club International Team decided  to support SHELTERBOX by having a colection in Bodmin Town Centre.    The display of a 10 man Shelter Box Tent & Box etc. attracted a lot of onterest and donations - Thank you everyone for your support  -  PeteR  Team Leader.

WHEELS - Sunday 16th July:  Wadebridge:

" Wadebridge Rotary kindly invited us to have a stand at the amazing Wadebridge Wheels event on Sunday 16th July . We were promoting our Bikers Meet for Milke that will be happening on Sunday the 20th August in Priory Park, Bodmin. We met some fabulous people, ate some good food, saw some fabulous vehicles, had a few laughs, got a little soggy and generally had a great day. However, one of the visitors to our gazebo was rather 'otherworldly' which could be why members Carolyn and Nigel are looking a bit surprised"

BODMIN HOSPITAL FETE: Sat. 17th June 2023

Members of  Bodmin Rotary Club were at the Bodmin Hospital Fete on Saturday 17th June to help set up the tea tent with Bodmin Lions , sell ice cream and participate in the Human Fruit Machine! We raised £394 for the Bodmin Hospital League of Friends and had a few laughs as well.

PRESIDENTS NIGHT 15th April 2023

A great time was had by all at the Bodmin Rotary Presidents Night on Saturday 15th April. Su Tune, chose Avalen Farm as the venue for her Night and she and her family did a great job. Su presented Anne Gregan the Bodmin Rotary Community Champion Award in recognition of the amazing work that she has done for many years for the Hospital League of Friends buying equipment for the Bodmin Hospital.  Neil Carter seems surprised about something - maybe it dawned on him that it will be him organising his Presidents Night next year.  Su looked absolutely gorgiss, as did her  fab girls.

January Bodmin Market:

December 20th 2022

Childrens Christmas party at Kinsmans Community Centre....

Mrs Claus , a Reindeer , a Christmas tree, an Elf and Christmas Pudding (all from Bodmin Rotary) enjoyed helping with this event. We would like to thank Elaine Katie and Rosie from the Kinsman Hub, Bodmin Lions for the loan of Santa, Morrisons for their generosity and all the lovely people who donated the toys to the Morrisons toy appeal. At Bodmin Rotary we are delighted to be able to work with all of these great people to make a postitive difference.   
Mrs Claus (aka our President Su Tune) and her trusty crew had a lot of fun helping Santa to deliver gifts to children at the Kinsman Community Hub. The amazing Reverend Elaine Munday helped to arrange everything and Katie and her lovely helpers put on an amazing spread for everyone. 

We would, again like to thank the Kinsman Community Hub team, Bodmin Lions for the loan of Santa, Morrisons who gave us lots of fabulous gifts that had been donated by our wonderfully generous Bodmin public and last but not least the parents and children who came along.

This rather large duck has been at Morrisons selling tickets for Bodmin Rotary's Duck Race (Saturday the 27th August) at 2pm in Priory Park. 

If you missed him you can still get your tickets at the Rotary stall at the Market on the Folly Sat. morning and at the event on the Memorial Lawn and at the event at 2pm Sat. 27th.

 Get a ticket for only £1 each and have a chance to win the first prize of £100.

Renate Collins, 89 years old from Cornwall, shared her experience of Nazi genocide, received a British Empire Medal for services to Holocaust education.  She escaped on the last train from Prague in 1938 before ww2 was declared.... She was only five years old when she left Prague. Boarding the train was the last time she saw her parents. Her mother and grandmother were both shot after their train broke down en route to Treblinka extermination camp in Poland, while her father and Uncle Felix were murdered at Auschwitz. In total, she lost 64 members of her family during the Holocaust.

Renates talk was very absorbing and heart felt - a wonderful lady - Thank you for coming to talk to us  -  needless to say, with links to the Bazely family !
