CYCLE TOUR OF BRITAIN
Cornwall will again host the Tour of Britain in September 2021 havimg been postponed to 2020. The Grand Departure of the race will see riders travel 170 kilometres through the Cornish
countryside, starting in Penzance and ending in Bodmin on the first day.
First Stage - Sunday 5th Sept 2021 - Start at Penzance finish Bodmin.
The stage’s provisional route will also visit St Just, St Ives, Hayle, Camborne, Pool, Redruth, Falmouth, Penryn, Truro, Newquay, St Austell and the Eden Project.
The agreement to hold the race was confirmed at a special signing ceremony with the Tour of Britain organiser SweetSpot and Cornwall Council at Chy Trevail in Bodmin on Friday 22 March 2019. The last time Cornwall hosted the 1st stage Penzance to Bodmin was in 1992 = This was a very successful day. See below for link to 1992 report....
