Princes Risborough Tree of Light again sets records .November 26th 2017

With almost 550 dedications on display and over £5,000 raised so far (with the final figure expected to be more than £6,000), this year’s Tree of Light in Princes Risborough has exceeded all previous years. The Dedication Ceremony was on 26 November, with the lights being turned on by Town Mayor Matt Walsh and the service taken by Rev. James Tomkins, and it again attracted a substantial crowd in cold but dry conditions.
The Tree of Light, which provides an opportunity to celebrate the life of someone special, is organised by the Rotary Club of Princes Risborough and the money raised goes to Rennie Grove Hospice Care and Rotary’s own charitable activities. Club President Paul Woodward-Court commented that “the importance of the Tree of Light to local people has grown steadily since the Rotary Club started it in 2008 and this year’s support confirms the much valued place that the event now holds in the town's calendar”.
