Youth Speaks Teams

Congratulations to the Youth Speaks Team from Mousehole School. Having won the local and area rounds in this tough competition, they were runners-up in the District Finals.

What do “Greek and Norse Gods” have in common with “My Future: My Choice”?

Well, they were the topics for discussion chosen by Year 6 pupils in Mousehole School and Bodriggy Academy at the Area round of Youth Speaks held at Penwith College in Penzance. Both schools went through to the District Final (the whole of Cornwall and Devon) at Tavistock College in March.

Amongst other topics discussed by teams in the area round were: artificial intelligence, SAS (students against sewage), and Pineapple - does it belong on a pizza? This was the second round of the competition, so all seven teams participating did really well. The standard of public speaking was, as usual, very high.
