Ambleside Kirkstone has 2 of the most amazing members any Rotary club would wish to meet.
Alec & Margaret Burford have been involved with the local Rothay Park weekly parkrun since it’s inception.
Parkrun is a free, community event for adults, children and four legged friends where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. It covers a 5k measured course and takes place every Saturday morning, country wide at 9am. Parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive, there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along.
Alec & Margaret are regular volunteers either at the Rothay Park parkrun in Ambleside or wherever they happen to be on a Saturday morning! They have now clocked up over 100 volunteer credits each, as marshals or finish token helpers. A remarkable achievement, made even more remarkable as Alec is 90 years young and Margaret is 88 - proving that age is just a number!
Fantastic you two! You're just AMAZING
