Rtn Mike Storr RC Carlton - 'Masters of Mirth'


Born in Lincoln where I lived for the first 25 years. I am a Freeman of the City of Lincoln.  I worked for I.C.I.  all my working life in far flung places ….Cambridge, Bristol before settling in Nottingham in 1979.  I’m married with 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Rotarian since 1980 …. Past President Carlton (Nottingham) Rotary Club on two occasions 1992/3 and again 2016/17
Masters of Mirth is an affectionate look at some of my favourite Music Hall laughter makers….How Music Hall began.
My favourite characters –Robb Wilton, Stanley Holloway, Bernard Miles to name but a few…..Examples of their acts including their famous monologues.

Stainborough Rotary Club is very active in the community, supporting worthy causes such as Centrepoint, Silkstone Scout Camp and Young People’s leadership programme. The Club also helps Santa with his Sleigh every Christmas.

We have close links, over many years, with Ho in Ghana. We have helped to fund the building of a Women's Co-operative, a Rotary Community Hall, a Street Children's centre, a water borehole and now the building of a sand dam.
