This will be a Joint Meeting with Prestwick Rotary Club for the visit of our District Governor Andy Lees.
After Andy left school he joined the Army. He saw service in the Far East, Malaysia & Borneo, and Berlin. After the Army he joined the National Economical Office before he joined the Post Office Counters in North London. While working on the Counters he met his wife who also worked for the Post Office. After several years they moved to Tayvallich and ran a Post Office and Stores. They eventually sold up and Liz went into teaching. She had trained as a teacher when she left school but out of one hundred graduates only ONE got a job. Andy worked in the local Inn as a Second Chef. He has now retired and spends his time reading, watching Rugby, Cricket and, so he says, cleaning the house, doing the washing and the general housework.
Liz and Andy have two children and two grandchildren, aged five and four months. Liz, when she has any spare time, enjoys gardening.
He is a member and past president of Mid Argyll Rotary Club and a former Assistant Governor.
He would like us all to "Be a Gift to the World"
