International and Foundation
International Service exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding. We support this service avenue by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more. This includes International Charities, Shelterboxes and Aquaboxes.
The Rotary Foundation is Rotary's own charity which celebrates its centennial in 2017. The mission of TRF is to enable Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty.
The Charity has six areas of focus: Promoting peace; Fighting disease; Providing clean water; Saving mothers and children; Supporting education; Growing local economies; and all activity involving the Charity will relate to one or more of them
It is supported by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation and generous donations from the public. You can find out all about it here, in particular the End Polio Now campaign.
The International and Foundation Team's Chair is George English and he has Mike McGee, Margaret Kirkwood, Willie Stewart, Fred Orr, Alastair Crabb and Jim McCulloch to assist him.
