On the 1st March 2016 members of the Ripon Rowels travelled to Catterick Garrison to present a cheque to the Army Benevolent Fund. David Jeffels in his year of Chairman has made the Army Benevolent Fund his charity of the year. Rotarian Bernard Bateman of the Ripon Rowels Rotary Club has organised, in conjunction with David Jeffels fund raising functions throught the year as well as collections at various events including Ripon Community Bonfire held at Ripon Racecourse. Members of Ripon Rowels attended a short presentation given by Lt Col Steve Bostock OBE LANCSthat outlined the work done at the Personnel Recovery Unit to help service personnel back in to active service or teach them skills deemed necessary to return to civilian life. Members were given a tour of the unit before returning to a very fine buffet lunch. Approximately £38,000 has been donated over the last two years and fundraising is continuing by Ripon Rowels with the continued support of David Jeffels, Chairman NYCC.
