New President
The Rotary Club of the Deepings has a new President - Ricky Fox but which one is it? The real Ricky Fox is shown right receiving the badge of office from Past President Geoff Card. Shown below is Junior Vice President Bob Godding being given his chain of office from President Ricky.

Tools for Self Reliance

The generosity of the people of the Deepings overwhelmed the local Rotary Club when they organized a collection of tools on Saturday the 15^th May. Over 1000 tools were collected plus over 500 ancillary items including drill bits and allan keys.

Amongst the star items was a 1915 Singer sewing machine in immaculate condition complete with instruction book. Other items ranged from a Blacksmiths anvil to a bicycle repair kit and there are still more to be collected.

The tools are being sent to 'Tools for Self Reliance', a charity which refurbishes them, packages them up into complete tool kits and sends them off to developing countries. Here they are distributed to artisans living in the rural areas to enable them to set up their own business and earn a living whilst improving the lives of people in the surrounding areas.
