D1150 Host Rotary International Youth Camp.

Young people from 16 different countries are converging on Southern Wales District from 20 to 30 July on a real Welsh Cultural Adventure through the Rotary International Youth Camp.


Based at Caeglas Guiding Centre just outside Cardiff, the young people from all over Europe, India, Taiwan and USA will go on a journey around South Wales, taking in St Fagan’s, the Senedd, Glamorgan Cricket Club, Big Pit, The Royal Mint and Dan yr Ogof Caves.

 They will witness Wales sea-faring heritage with visits to Porthcawl Lifeboat station, Cardiff Yacht Club and the Maritime Museum, Swansea.

 They will take in Welsh history with visits to the Blaenavon World Heritage Site and Newport Transporter Bridge, witness some Welsh culture by enjoying Cwmbach Male Voice Choir rehearse and have a chance to see renewable energy in action with a visit to Pen y Cymoedd Wind Energy Project.

 They will also have the opportunity to join with welsh schoolchildren, taking part in outdoor pursuits at the Rotary Youth Leadership Award course in Storey Arms.
