Community Champion Awards 2020
Andy McNally: 2020 Rotary Good Citizen Award
Champion Volunteer
When lockdown occurred in March, Andy was one of the first to offer his services. He volunteered as a prescription delivery driver from March onwards. Throughout Covid, Andy has queued outside the chemist, sometimes up to three times a day in all weathers, and then delivered the medications across the Island. Having had less than a handful of days off. He has directly helped 100s of local people.
Even during the weekends, Andy help is always available, should an emergency arise. For example, recently he drove the ICA’s shuttle service minibus for the Royal Manor Health Centre’s “Drive-Through” Flu Clinic. And in the process, signed up both his wife and daughter as volunteers.
Andy was awarded £150.00 for a charity of his choice, which he also gave to ICA.
