The Draw is usually held at the Monmouth Raft Race in the first week in September. The Race had to be cancelled this year due to low water levels in the river Wye. The Draw took place at the Royal Oak Pub in the Hereford Road where Monmouth Rotary Club holds its weekly meetings. Pictured are Abergavenny Rotary Club President Robert Parker assisting Monmouth Rotary Club President Debra Lake with the Draw on the terrace at the back of the pub.
Thank you to all the schools, clubs and societies which participated in the Draw this year, selling tickets and to all those people who bought tickets. The prize money and cost of printing the tickets is shared by the Rotary Clubs of Abergavenny, Chepstow and Monmouth with the event organised by Monmouth Rotary. All the proceeds from the sale of the Draw tickets is retained in full by the various schools, clubs and societies which sell the tickets and provides much needed funds for their own purposes. The event will be run again next year with the Draw tickets becoming available in May 2023 and the Draw being held at the Monmouth Raft Race in early September, subject to river levels being back to normal levels.
