Our speaker this evening is Sally Stanley with a talk entitled
"Parcels of Comfort WW1"

Our speaker this evening is

Sally Stanley

Sally Stanley and a small team of textile artists put on an exhibition at Bristol Cathedral in 2016. This was part of a 4 year programme of events commemorating the First World War.
This art installation demonstrated the story of the exchange of letters and parcels between troops abroad and their family and friends at home.
The army created a very efficient postal system realising that keeping up morale was as important as providing ammunition.
Sally will be able to give us the background story and how it was portrayed in her exhibition.
