International Activities
As well as supporting the local community Rotary Monmouth spends a small part of its funds on International activities.
Our International Activities include:
- An annual donation to the Rotary End Polio Now campaign
- Support for the Light and Hope Charity in Cairo,Egypt supporting blind and partially sighted children. This is in cooperation with Heliopolis Rotary Club
- Providing humanitarian aid to the Ukraine
- Making loans through "Lend With Care" microfinance in developing countries
Club is currently investigating application for a Rotary Foundation Global Grant of around £70,000 ($110,000) for a project to support disabled children in the Aswan Governorate, Egypt. An initial description of the project can be found here
