Rotary Monmouth member Kevin Graham recently took his third trip to the Ukraine organised by Hereford Rotarian Will Jackson, Rotary District 1100 (i.e West Central England) Ukraine Lead, who since 2022 has operated a route regularly delivering much needed humanitarian supplies to Ukraine. On Kevin's first trip, in May 2025, a four wheel drive vehicle was delivered to a medical evacuation unit operating near the front line. Unfortunately the vehicle was destroyed three weeks ago and a replacement vehicle urgently needed.
Kevin stepped forward, a vehicle for £5250 was purchased, Rotary Monmouth contributed £750 and Kevin made a donation of £750. The photos illustrate the group delivering the vehicle and other supplies in a group of vehicles including an ambulance, full of donated aid taken in convoy to the Ukraine.
Rotarians across the country have been supporting Ukraine since the invasion and full scale war began in 2022 More details of activities as of August 2025 can be found here and a broader collection of articles from February 2025 here.
At a meeting on October 1st 2025 at the Royal Oak followed by one at the Punch House on October 28th a group to support Ukraine is beginning to form in Monmouth. The first project is to create friendship boxes to send to the Ukraine for Christmas.
