Rotary Monmouth not only runs events it also assists in the community at many events and in other ways

Organise Youth activities

  • Rotary Youth Speaks - a national debating competition with a a first round involving all three senior schools in Monmouth with the winners going  on to compete with schools from around the district.
  • Rotary Youth Leadership Awards - sponsoring attendance at a four day residential course to develop confidence and team building skills for 16-18 year olds
  • International Youth Exchange - supporting candidates who apply and selected to attend an international convention with others of their generation
  • End Polio -raising money and publicising the need to eradicate this terrible disease

Rotary Monmouth Community Champions

Many projects in town including

  • Green wall on Blestium St. toilet block
  • Trying to smarten up the town by clearing overgrown vegetation, tree planting and litter picking
  • Water Fountain project
  • Outings for senior citizens

Support local organisations 

By donations and organising an annual Community Draw. The Draw has been held for several years and typically raises £5000 - 12,000 for local groups, this year is being run in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Abergavenny 

We also assist at:

  • St David's Hospice "Tour de Gwent" providing marshals and assisting with refreshments in late April
  • The Monmouth Show - manning the access gates
  • Monmouth Carnival - assisting with marshalling the parade
  • Town Lantern festival - kicking off the Christmas festivities

more The Flower wall project is supported by Monmouth Town Council allowing Rotary Monmouth Community Champions to continue to plant seasonal flowers

Charitable Activities

more Rotary is a Service Organisation, Rotary Monmouth has a registered Charity, the Rotary Club of Monmouth Charity Trust Fund which exists to serve the community. One of the ways we do this is by our donations to local, national and international charities.

Rotary Monmouth Community Champions

more Monmouth Green Wall replanted for the winter. The flowers covering the walls of the Blestium Street toilet block in Monnow Street Monmouth, have been giving pleasure to residents and visitors for over 5 years.
