Our annual Rotary Junior Schools Quiz was held on Tuesday 11th February at The Memorial Hall, Royal Wootton Bassett.
Six teams from local primary schools, Brinkworth Earl Danby's, Broad Hinton, Lyneham, Noremarsh, St Bartholomew's and St Mary’s Purton competed in a ten round quiz on various subjects covering science, health, music, general knowledge, pictures and more.
Each team were given a Joker to tactically play on one pre-selected round of their choice which doubled their score on that round.
For each round our 'star' quizmaster Allison delivered the questions followed by the answers (after the answer sheets were collected).
Noremarsh Junior School were this year's winners, reclaiming the trophy they won as recently as 2023 (and were also runners-up in 2024). Congratulations Noremarsh!
St Bartholomew's came second in the runners-up position.
All competing schools are of course winners. Congratulations to you all and thank you for participating.
Rotary Club President Linda Locke presented the shield trophy to the Noremarsh team for them to display in their school until next year's quiz. The winning team members each received a voucher for £20 and each runner-up team member a £10 voucher.
Members of all participating teams will shortly receive a certificate signed by Club President Linda.
All teams enjoyed the quiz as did parents and teachers. President Linda thanked the schools and the audience for supporting the event as well as all organising Rotary Club members for making the competition happen.
We look forward to welcoming all teams again for another quiz at The Memorial Hall in the Spring of 2026 on Tuesday 24th March, starting at 18:30
