Six junior or primary schools entered the Youth Speaks competition organised by the Rotary Club of Royal Wootton Bassett and District.
The speaking order of teams was drawn by drawing lots. This gave us the following line-up.
Each of the three speakers in a team was expected to talk for up to two minutes on a subject they had chosen.
After the audience had heard all eighteen competitors speak, there was a break for refreshments whilst the judges totted up their scores to find the winning teams.
The scores were close - but the team from St Mary's School, Purton won the contest and the trophy.
