Youth Challenge

A competition with physical and intellectual challenges for young teams from Royal Wootton Bassett and district.


The Youth Challenge hosted by both the Rotary Clubs of Royal Wootton Bassett
was a great success.

Two of the aims of the "Challenge" were:

  • to encourage competition and friendly rivalry amongst local community youth groups and
  • to provide a boost to their funding.

A key motivation to develop the Challenge was the recognition that such groups within our own communities require essential funding to continue to deliver a service to our young people.

Our intention is for the event to become part of the annual Carnival programme in a further attempt to encourage youth participation.

Each team of six members, aged 10-14, competed in both mental and physical challenges. After the penultimate Challenge, there was a barbeque lunch. When lunch had settled, all the teams went head-to-head in a grand final competition.

The winning team from RWB Academy was presented with a cheque for
