On Wednesday 15th April Brian Durk attended the meeting to talk on his experiences working voluntarily out in Ghana at the Kalakpa Nature Reserve.
He first went out there several years ago to set up bee keeping and became interested in the work being carried out to build housing to re-instate the people still living on the reserve in shanty homes.
Many had left the area but there are still families who do not wish to live anywhere but on the reserve.
He told us that the money the club had previously given had been used to help purchase a brick making machine to make bricks to build the housing with.
It was an interesting talk and Brian entertained us with various stories. Many questions were asked during and after the presentation.
