Members of Stonehouse Rotary club and friends enjoyed a very interesting visit to an Archaeological site in South Gloucestershire, hosted by professional Archaeologist Buzz Busby.
The visit began with an explanation by Buzz of the changes that have taken place over recent years, requiring new development planning applications to consider the impact of any development on historical archaeological remains. This may result in a full hands on investigation and “dig” on site to gather and record archaeological information prior to development taking place. We were able to view current investigations on the site visited in South Gloucestershire.
Later following our return to Stonehouse Court Hotel for dining, Buzz told us about some of the items that have been recovered from site, which will be researched and recorded.
A very informative and enjoyable evening with thanks to Buzz and all others associated with the visit.
