Despite the fact that the sun did not come out, the day warmed up and the rain held off. There was an excellent attendence and there were plenty of things to see and do.
The balloons in the balloon race soared into the sky and it will be ineteresting to find out eventually where the one that travelled furthest landed. There were several performances by Five Valleys Circus who held a circus workshop as well as balloon modelling, bubble blowing and fire juggling. There was also the Wheelbarrow Challenge held in the Globe Inn car park, a bouncy castle and over 20 stalls selling a wide choice of goods.
The Dignity Charity organ was there and also two disco's to entertain everyone. There was also the opportunity to talk to the Neighbourhood Policing Team who brought the mobile police vehicle with them. Many of the shops had special offers for customers and dressed up (as did many of those attending the Celebration Day) There have never been so many detectives, villains or police seen in Stonehouse on the same day - including a "judge" who was in charge of the "Clock it and unlock it" competition treasure chest. All in all it was a very enjoyable and successful day for the town.
