Service above Self.
The heart of the Rotary mission statement is for each Rotarian to apply the principle of 'Service above Self'. In Stonehouse Rotary, this ideal is applied for local Community and Vocational projects through the Community Service Committee.
The main aim of Community Service is to organise and develop fund raising events in order to provide effective support to a wide variety of charitable projects. Typically, these range from practical help for individuals in need (such as the repair of a garden fence for a disabled ex-serviceman), to direct services (for example, free blood pressure testing at the Frampton Country Fair) and financial and/or other support to key local charities that provide uniquely valuable services in the area; we have helped very many, including SARA, Winston's Wish, Riding for the Disabled, the Cotswold Care Hospice, and most recently the Stonehouse Citizens Advice Bureau service.
