Interested in Rotary but can't commit to membership?

No problem, join us as a Friend of Rotary

We enjoy sharing our fellowship and community service with like-minded people who for one reason or another are not able to offer the time and commitment required of members.  We call them “Friends of Rotary”.   One of the objects of Rotary is the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.

"Friends of Rotary" are people who support the values and activities of Rotary without becoming full members.  They share Rotary's ideals and objectives without the responsibility or commitment required from a full member.

Being a "Friend of Rotary" is a flexible way to get involved in community service, fellowship, and events.  It’s ideal for those who may not have the time or ability to commit to regular meetings or responsibilities.  No formal duties, they just contribute when they can.

Some of our activities are not only to raise funds.  They can be to assist in a hands-on working way, or they can be just to socialise.   It’s an opportunity to enjoy activities in each other's company, make new friends and catch up with old ones.

Anyone who has a passion and an interest in helping others can become a "Friend of Rotary" and help us improve the lives of the disadvantaged and less able people in our local community.

What our "Friends of Rotary" do is:

  • Help us on our projects and fundraising events
  • Join us on our social gatherings and fellowship activities
  • Support our local and international service initiatives
  • Come to some of our speaker meetings

What our "Friends of Rotary" DO NOT do is:

  • Come to ALL our regular Club meetings
  • Pay any membership fees

If you enjoy meeting and working with other people; if you are too busy with family or work to attend regular Rotary meetings, then becoming a "Friend of Rotary" could be for you.

You will benefit from opportunities to contribute something to the community; making new friends; using your particular skills and experiences to help disabled and disadvantaged people in our community; and having fun whilst raising money for good causes.

It costs nothing to be a "Friend of Rotary" apart from some of your time.  Anyone over 18 who has a passion and an interest in helping others can become a "Friend of Rotary".

Why you might want to join a Club

Will you join with us in our desire to help others who are less fortunate than ourselves?

To become a “Friend of Rotary” we will need your contact details. They will be kept securely and used only to keep you informed of our activities and events and they will not be passed on to any third party. You can cancel your Friend of Rotary status at any time by sending an email to rotaryswindonnorth@gmail.com

Click here to fill in an online “Be a Friend of Rotary” application form.

Or if you would like a chat with one of us first, then please send a request by email to: rotaryswindonnorth@gmail.com
