Our speaker, Jordan Turner, lost her brother, Lee, in 2021 when he was fatally stabbed in the chest.   She said: “My world came crashing down, and after the trials, I knew I couldn’t stand by and watch another family experience the pain we’ve endured. In 2023, I created a company called “Change Lives No To Knives” and dedicated my life to making a real difference in the fight against youth violence and knife crime.

“Change Lives No To Knives” aims to educate individuals and communities about the dangers of knife misuse and to empower them to take action against youth violence.   Its mission includes raising awareness, providing educational resources, and fostering open conversations about knife safety and conflict resolutions.    It’s key activities are educational workshops, running support groups, raising awareness campaigns and collaborating with local organisations to create tailored programs focusing on knife safety.

Jordan Turner visits schools to share her story and educate students about the consequences of knife crime.  She emphasizes the importance of influencing positive mindsets among the youth to prevent further tragedies.

“Change Lives” also supports local schemes, such as knife exchange programs, which aim to reduce knife-related incidents by replacing pointed knives with safer alternatives.   In the picture she is showing us a 4-Piece knife set with squared tips.  It’s made by Viners and is available from Amazon and other suppliers.  The knives have stainless steel blades with a non-stick coating, but the essential safety feature is the squared tip.

Jordan is also holding a Bleed Control Kit.   She went to the Houses of Parliament in December 2025 to demonstrate how to use it and to speak to a number of MPs.  “I’m very happy with how busy the turnout was, and how many MPs from across the country took time out to come and listen to our stories,” said Jordan.   The kits cost £92 and are donated by “Change Lives” to pubs and night clubs, etc, free of charge.

"Change Lives No To Knives" is a vital effort in the fight against knife crime.  By focusing on education, support, and community involvement Jordan hopes to create a safer environment for everyone. By raising awareness and fostering dialogue, she hopes to prevent further loss and to promote a culture of safety and responsibility.

Jordan’s work is a powerful example of turning personal tragedy into a force for change.
