Enter our SWIMATHON and raise funds for your favourite charity, cause or organisation.
Our Charity SWIMATHON gives a team of swimmers the opportunity to collect sponsorship for an organisation, cause or charity of their choice. Team members can be friends, school or work colleagues, family members, in fact any group with a shared aim. We organise and run the event and it's totally free to enter.
Swimathon 2024 raises £5,952 for charity
Our SWIMATHON is not a marathon or a race. It's a FUN EVENT for swimmers of all ages and abilities to take part.
No-one will be asked to complete a certain distance or to swim at a certain speed, team members just swim in relay for 55 minutes. All swimmers will be given a medal and a certificate to show how many lengths they completed.

Above all, what we ask is that each individual team member collects as much sponsorship as possible on themselves. We will give Amazon vouchers to the 3 swimmers with the highest individual sponsorship.
Ideally your team should have 4 to 8 members, people who are not only prepared to swim but also willing to collect sponsorship on themselves. Give your team a name, decide who will be the team captain, and select the charity or organisation you want to raise money for. We suggest that each team member endeavours to collect at least £50 sponsorship on themselves. Obviously, the more the better!

On the day, come to the SWIMATHON with your team and any supporters, hand in your sponsorship forms, and enjoy swimming and cheering on your fellow team members.
Whilst you are swimming we will add up how much sponsorship your team has obtained and after verifying the forms we will hand them back to you so that you can collect all the money in.

As well as raising money for the charity of your choice our SWIMATHON will also be raising funds for The Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool
The Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool has provided hydrotherapy for the people of Wiltshire and further afield since 1979. It is based in a fully accessible Centre in Jefferies Avenue, Swindon. Hydrotherapy can relieve pain, help with rehabilitation and be beneficial for many conditions for all age groups. The Centre caters for all disabilities whether permanent or temporary and is fully equipped to provide safe accessibility. Its friendly and helpful staff are dedicated to helping people enjoy the many benefits of hydrotherapy. To use the Pool people need to be referred by their GP or health professional.

After the SWIMATHON send us all the sponsorship money your team has collected as soon as you can. We will send a payment to the charity or organisation of your team’s choice of one half of your total sponsorship. The other half will go to the Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool. [Note - the final date for sending us your sponsorship money is 8th June 2025].
COLLECT YOUR SPONSORSHIP ONLINE
Collecting your sponsorship online is easy and really is the best way to do it. To make a start, click on the red "Good Hub Donate Online" banner below to go to our "Good Hub" fundraising page. On that page, scroll down to "About Us" under which there are easy and straightforward instructions on how to set up YOUR OWN "GOOD HUB" FUNDRAISING PAGE.
You can choose an "Individual" or a "Team" fundraising page, whichever is appropriate for you. If you create a team page, all your team members can create their own individual pages on it. Then each one of you needs to email and message friends and family inviting them to sponsor you online on your Good Hub fundraising page. That way you can promote your entry much more widely, maximise your sponsorship and have gift aid added to it. This online method is by far the easiest way for you to raise funds for your chosen charity and for the Swimathon.
