At this Special Meeting cheques for £500 each were presented to 13 local charities.


At this Special Meeting on 29th July we presented cheques for £500 each to 13 local charities.  The money was raised by means of our Christmas Sleigh collection campaigns outside Asda and Morrisons last December.

Representatives from the charities were invited to this special dinner meeting of our Rotary Club, also invited were the Rotarians' partners. .   

The local charities receiving a donation of £500 were: 

  • Affected by Cancer Swindon (ABC), accepted by Richard Ford and Chris Dann
  • BIBIC
  • Breaking Free
  • Fluency Trust Organisation, accepted by Zane Moore and Sarah Powell
  • Headway, accepted by Sonia Blaquiere and Caroline Gardiner
  • NSPCC Swindon Branch, accepted by Marilyn Kempshall
  • Prospect Hospice
  • Ridgeway Breast Cancer Support Group, accepted by Julie Wells and Kay Sharpe
  • Swindon Domestic Abuse Service, accepted by Nicky Alberry
  • Swindon Food Bank, accepted by Cher Smith
  • Swindon Parkinson’s Activity Group, accepted by Graham and Dee Vaughan
  • The Samaritans, accepted by Lisa Wozniak and Christine Pearce.
  • Wiltshire Search and Rescue, accepted by Mark Pitman
