ShelterBox have made us a Bronze Partner Club

A Partner Club is a Rotary club that supports ShelterBox's work in disaster relief by donating over £2,000 in a Rotary year

A LETTER FROM SHELTERBOX

September 2023

"Dear Rotary Club of Swindon North and Thamesdown,

We have been bowled over by the support from clubs fundraising in response to the terrible earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria in February. So many of you were out in your local shops and streets collecting donations, running fundraising events and contributing from your club’s funds. To say thank you and to acknowledge the efforts from clubs across the country, we have started a new way to recognise your support, called Partner Clubs.

A Partner Club is a Rotary club that supports our work in disaster relief by donating over £2,000 in a Rotary year. There are four Partner Club levels, linked to how much you donate: Bronze - £2,000; Silver - £4,000; Gold - £6,000, and Platinum - £10,000.

Congratulations on becoming a Bronze Partner Club!

According to our records the Rotary Club of Swindon North And Thamesdown has raised a total of £2,970 in Rotary year 2022/2023.

Your partnership has meant that we can support people like Nürgul, who was affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye. “When I get in my tent and zip it up, I feel relieved. When there is no tent, the coffee I drink is not coffee. But here... my coffee tastes like coffee.”

Thank you again for your continued support of our vital work to ensure that no-one is left without shelter after disaster. It’s only thanks to generous individuals and clubs such as yourselves that we can make the necessary commitment to supporting communities as they recover and rebuild their lives.

We hope to enjoy an ongoing and impactful partnership with your club into the future."
