PRESIDENT'S HANDOVER MEETING
Outgoing President Ann places the chain of office on the shoulders of Steve Davison, our Club's President for the Rotary year 2024/25.
Due to illness, Andy Joyce wasn't able to attend for his investiture as President Elect (Senior Vice President). And that meant our President Nominee (Junior Vice President), Colin Hornsby, couldn't receive the President Nominee's (Junior Vice President's) jewel. Andy and Colin will be invested at the earliest and mutually convenient opportunity.

IN OTHER NEWS....
PRESIDENT ANN was in Scotland last week and returned home only a couple of hours before this meeting. Ann loves her golf and she's quite a handy player too. So much so that the reason she went to Scotland was to play in the Rotary International Golf Tournament on the famous St Andrews courses no less. She was one of 290 competitors from 20 different countries.
The qualifying rounds were played on the Old and Eden courses and to proceed to the final rounds the players needed to be in the top 45. Ann made sure of that by coming FIRST in round 1 and SECOND in round 2. So she progressed to play the 2 final rounds which were on the Old course and the New course.
In the Championship Final she achieved 6th overall, 1st lady and 1st senior for which she received two lovely trophies (in the picture). What a fantastic achievement by our brilliant golfing President. And it's even more amazing considering she only started playing golf less than 4 years ago.
What's next for Ann? Well, next month, she's off to Crans Montana in Switzerland!
Crans Montana is well known in the golfing and skiing worlds. And from 8th-12th July 2024 it is the venue for the 48th European Rotary Golf open Championship. It's being organised by the Rotary Club of Crans Montana and will be played on the Seve Ballesteros golf course in Crans-Montana and on the links of Leuk down in the plain.
