They swam the equivalent of Highworth to Bristol and back again and in doing so raised £6,680!
This was our most successful Swimathon to date, 74 entrants swam a total of 5,676 lengths of the 25 metre pool at Highworth Recreation Centre. Put another way, that’s roughly from Highworth to Bristol and back again.
And in the process they raised the fantastic sum of £6,680.
These proceeds will be shared by the Swindon Food Collective and the other charities and organisations chosen by the swimmers themselves.
Completion certificates and medals were presented to all the participants by Cher Smith MBE, the Manager of Swindon’s Food Bank, the Swindon Food Collective.
"What a fantastic event the Swimathon was, well done to everyone involved."
Cher Smith MBE, Manager of the Swindon Food Collective, writes to thank us for the £3,491 donation. Click here to read her letter.

Enter our SWIMATHON and raise funds for your favourite charity, cause or organisation.
Held over 4 hours our Charity SWIMATHON gives a team of swimmers the opportunity to collect sponsorship for an organisation, cause or charity of their choice. Team members can be friends, school or work colleagues, family members, in fact any group with a shared aim. We organise and run the event and it's totally free to enter.
Our SWIMATHON is neither a marathon nor a race. It's a FUN EVENT for swimmers of all ages and abilities to take part.
No-one will be asked to complete a certain distance or to swim at a certain speed, team members just swim in relay for 55 minutes. All swimmers will be given a medal and a certificate to show how many lengths they completed.

Above all, what we ask is that each individual team member collects as much sponsorship as possible on themselves. We will give a cash voucher to the 3 swimmers with the highest individual sponsorship.
Ideally your team should have 4 to 8 members, people who are not only prepared to swim but also willing to collect sponsorship on themselves. Give your team a name, decide who will be the team captain, and select the charity or organisation you want to raise money for. We suggest that each team member endeavours to collect at least £25 sponsorship on themselves. Obviously, the more the better!

On the day, come to the SWIMATHON with your team and any supporters, hand in your sponsorship forms, and enjoy swimming and cheering on your fellow team members.
Whilst you are swimming we will add up how much sponsorship your team has obtained and after verifying the forms we will hand them back to you so that you can collect all the money in.
