Samaritan’s Purse (click here for website), through Operation Christmas Child, distribute shoeboxes to children living in refugee camps after they were forced to leave their homes by civil war.
Janet Billinge from Operation Christmas Child gave an excellent presentation and club members asked many questions. The Rotary Club may well support the scheme later in the year and its International & Foundation Committee will consider making a recommendation to members.
Unfortunately, due to the failure of the Hotel's projector, Janet wasn't able to show a video of the boxes being received by children. Click on this link to look at the video she couldn't show and find out more about Samaritan's Purse. There are many other videos on the Operation Christmas Child website to show the wonderful work the charity does.
