George Brailey related his path from avoiding whisky to a whisky enthusiast.
When he discovered a Dimple bottle of Haig’s Whisky that had belonged to his late grandfather, this instigated his interest in whisky. It was then he was introduced to a secondary market in whisky and collecting whiskies.
George and his team, Jason Julian, Brendan Innes and Adam Stanley created a Dunfermline Whisky. Did Dunfermline need a whisky? Reasons include 58,000 population, over 20 pubs and bars, good transport links, heritage in Distilling and Bottling and whisky retailers.
The Covid pandemic made online whisky tastings popular. With 183 distilleries in Scotland, there has been a resurgence in interest in whisky on Edinburgh.
A club was created to socialise with like minded individuals with access to exclusive whiskies. The club expanded knowledge and appreciation while promoting local businesses through recommendations. The club caters for everyone with affordable whiskies.
Dunfermline Whisky is a not for profit organisation with an ambition to increase awareness, foster a sense of belonging, influence whisky choices in bars, grow the community, increase number of tastings and host a festival.
