This has been another year where the Club has been faced with international conflict and the effects of Covid19 et cetera. The limited resources at our disposal means that we can only impact to resolve these issues in a limited fashion. However every little bit we do has a positive impact. The Committee would thank members for continuing to support their work.
Over the last year we have continued to support our school in Cambodia through difficult times when Covid19 has drained the school of its major source of income, tourism. The good news is that despite all the difficulties the school continues to offer English language training to many pupils.
The invasion of Ukraine prompted the Club and individual members to make a significant donation to support the Ukrainian people. As this conflict continues, it may be that the the arrival of Ukrainian refugees into Fife requires the Club to make further donations.
The Club also supported Haiti Help, a local charity that supports work in one of the poorest nations in the world. This was done in light of yet another climatic disaster that the people of Haiti faced.
