Spring Walk

The plan is to meet in the visitor centre car park at Lochore Meadows Country Park at 10:00 on Sunday 9th May, weather permitting.  The early start will hopefully allow us all to park our cars without difficulty.  You can also get to the park using the 19 bus.  The route will follow the path around the loch from the visitor centre clockwise, then join the Pilgrim Way into Kelty, on to Keltybridge, and back into the park via the Blairfordel entrance, and the eastern lochside path back to the start.   

The full route is 6 miles, but there’s a shorter 3 mile option that follows the path around the loch.  The paths are good, and mostly wide and flat.   The toilets at the visitor centre are open and there’s an outside service hatch at the café.   There’s also plenty of space for socialising and picnicking, but assume benches etc will be occupied (and the car pack full) by the time we’re back to the start.  My recommendation therefore for food and drink is: bring your own and keep it simple.

We will have to follow all current Covid regulations including no car sharing.  I’ll issue complete guidance to participants before the walk.  The weather forecast for 9 May is currently good, so fingers crossed for a fine day!
