A great afternoon's entertainment was supplied courtesy of Greig and Anne's version of a car treasure hunt. Following concerns over what the weather might hold for the Sunday afternoon it was a relief that all the heavy rain arrived overnight and by the time of the off all that the cars had to deal with were some large puddles.
A dozen members were given staggered starts from Pets at Home in Halbeath to be sent on a route through Kingseat, Kelty, Kinross, Strathmiglo, Auchtermuchty, Falkland, Leslie, Milnathort and Crook of Devon.
Greig's challenge in circumnavigating the Kingdom was set in rhyme and ranged from counting barrels used as planters, spotting defibrillators, dates on old buildings and pub signs. It did help if you had eyes in the back of your head at times and sometimes just being good guessers.
Answers required included sneaking snails and dashing dragons. A few times identifying animals in fields was required but seriously an appointment at Specsavers is required for the couple who claimed to have seen lions at Knockhill!
Results were announced to entrants on Zoom in the evening. There were 90 questions worth 100 points and the club's answer to Andrew Cowan and Johnstone Syer turned out to be Douglas and Christine with 92.5 points. Joint runners up were Mark & Fiona and Robin & Sandra.
Many thanks to Greig and Anne for setting up such an enjoyable afternoon, it takes a lot of time to compile and write such an excellent piece. We know them as renowned for their musical harmonies but when they go on the road it seems their talents are equally accomplished.
