Community & Vocational Service AGM Report
During the Rotary Year 2016 – 2017 the committee have been active to ensure the plan set out be fulfilled.
My thanks to all the team and club members for their support in our work.
The result of the work carried out, the team have largely achieved our aims.
Aims – Children’s Gala’s, Kids Out, Community Suppers, Torryburn Beach Clean-up, Poppy Wreaths, Fife Young Carers, Employability Mock Interviews & Shoebox.
Only two projects not carried out this year – but open to review in future.

Achieved – Children’s Gala’s, Kid’s Out, Community Suppers, Torryburn Beach Clean-up, Poppy Wreaths, Fife Young Carers.
New Projects – Purple4polio, Community Exhibition & Bucket Collection at Fireworks Display.
Children’s Gala’s
Participated in three galas - Crossford, Limekilns & Charlestown, Culross Fete.
Planning four 2017 – 2018 – Crossford, Cairneyhill, Limekilns & Charlestown & Culross Fete.
Kids Out - the project incurred a 20% increase in cost.
So part of the project to help fund this years Kid’s Out – Fireworks Display Bucket Collection was held in November at Pittencrieff Park.Bucket Collection £462 raised for each club.
Kid’s Out team are – Rotary Club of Dunfermline, Inverkeithing & Dalgety Bay & West Fife.
Purple4polio
New project promoted by Rotary GB&I aiming to rid the world of Polio. Purple crocus bulbs planted by Low Valleyfield Community Council and Local Primary Schools.
Schools fundraising still ongoing - thank you to Aileen for all her work with local primary schools – with presentations at assemblies, planting crocus bulbs, and also fundraising with a number of the schools.
Community Exhibition
First time event – the plan was to hold an exhibition in Crossford showcasing the local clubs and organisations.The purpose to raise public awareness of activities available to the community, and of course highlight the work of Rotary Club of West Fife.
An opportunity for networking and collaboration between the organisations.
The event held on 12th March was seen as very successful, with the Crossford Community Council being among many giving very positive feedback. There were 19 clubs and organisations taking part, held in The Elgin Suite at the Keavil House with numbers in attendance of 250 +
Thank you and well done everyone in the club that assisted, and made the exhibition a great success.
Community Suppers
Arranged by Ian Grieve, convivial event promoting fellowship among members both old and new in the club.

Thank you to Alan Farquharson for his involvement with Fife Young Carers on behalf of the club.
Finally thank you and well done to the committee, and all members that have contributed in any way – to help achieve our aims in 2016 – 2017. We have good platform to which we can continue to build, and our club can look forward to another year of great community involvement.
