Speaker - Provost Jim Leishman

Tue, Jun 21st 2016 at 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Jim's talk is titled 'Ball to Chain'!

Provost of Fife Jim Leishman was the speaker at the Rotary Club of West Fife's weekly meeting.

At this meeting we were honoured that Lord Provost of Fife, Jim Leishman, took time out of his extremely busy schedule to talk to us about ‘ball to chain’. This was about his distinguished playing and managerial football career. It was very entertaining and encompassed his great ability to motivate and now that he is Provost nothing gives him greater pleasure to speak to primary school children and preach to them that they ‘can be what they want to be’ as Jim himself so ably proved! A truly entertaining speaker on our club programme.

Prior to the meeting Rotary Young writers of the Year Certificates were presented to Leo McCran and Ben Neil from Culross Primary School. The school was given a cheque for £100 to install a ‘trim trail’ to keep pupils and staff fit.

In addition to the attendence of Culross Primary School the Club was delighted to present the Crossford Primary School quiz team (accompanied by teachers and parents)  who progressed from the local heats to the District final in Aberdeen and came a very creditable 3rd place. Such a fantastic feather in the cap for the school and indeed for ourselves as sponors. The photographs show the various presentations.

The meeting concluded with inducting our newest member Ken Cowe.
