West Fife met the Rotary Club of Kintore, Blackburn and Kemnay in the final of this year's inter club Gavel Challenge.
The teams contested the final at a venue hosted by the Rotary Club of Forfar. Unfortunately the Aberdeenshire club saw off the challenge of the Fifers.
Neil Spriddle commented:-
"While it was disappointing to lose , we’ve had a great run this year and visited a few Rotary Clubs we might otherwise not have had contact with. I think the main thing is the fellowship we’ve had throughout, both within the Club and with other Clubs. A huge thank you and well done to everyone who has taken part this year, both playing and spectating. Onwards and upwards to next year !!!"
President Mark Todd added:-
"I can't agree more with Neil. Despite the disappointment of the result, the enjoyment and fun we have had throughout the competition this year has more than made up for that disappointment
"I’d like to thank Neil for the effort and work he has put into organising the team and travel arrangements. I know at times it feels like it’s herding cats, but without someone doing that, it probably wouldn’t happen. Also thanks to everyone who took part either by being there, or offering support."
