Visit to Stanway House and Fountain

Message from President David

Its website states

“Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, Stanway is an outstandingly beautiful example of a Jacobean manor house famous for its 300 feet single jet fountain, the highest in Britain and the highest gravity fountain in the world.

The house, it’s fascinating furniture, the jewel like Gatehouse, the Church and the 14th Century Tithe Barn, the 18th Century water garden, the specimen trees and avenues, the surrounding villages, farms, parkland and woodland all subtly combine to create an enclave of a very English and almost magical harmony”

It’s open to groups of 10 or more on Monday Wednesday and Fridays during July and August. It is £16 per person. ( Note not £10 as mentioned in the meeting notes for last Monday evening)The plan is to visit in the morning and retire for lunch or a sandwich at the lovely Mount Inn in Stanton.

Could members who want to come please email me on davidhearle@icloud.com

The agreed date is Friday 22nd August with the time to be advised

As for getting there I am sure we can all arrange lifts amongst ourselves.
