February: the month to celebrate love and friendship.

District Conference DG Anne Bartholomew

District Governors from four districts welcome you to Sandy Park to share friendship, learning, service and fun with Rotarians from different areas and backgrounds.

While this is a weekend Conference, there is always the option of just attending for one day, if you already have commitments for that weekend.

The registration fee for the Conference is £50 per person, which includes tea/coffee at all four breaks over the weekend and a sandwich lunch on Saturday. This is the rate until 31 March 2024 after that date it will increase

to £60 per person.

conference at Sandy Park, Exeter from Friday 28th June to Sunday 30th June 2024

Payment details are in the last section of the registration form.

Optional additional items include:

* Friday evening supper with ceilidh - £35 pp

* Sandwiches for lunch on Friday - £9 pp

* Saturday evening three course banquet,

incl. coffee and entertainment - £42.50 pp

Accommodation needs to be booked separately. Please have a look at the programme schedule which includes some inspiring speakers, a focus

on Youth on the Saturday morning and 60 different organisations within the Showcase. An opportunity not to be missed, to celebrate the success and power of Rotary.

New member

Welcome to Duncan Ivory who was inducted into the club on 15 January 2024. He lives in Gotherington with his wife Jilly. A keen guitar player, he has already formed a group in the village. We look forward to getting to know them both better.

Snowdrops at Colesbourne

We were blessed with fine weather during the weekend on 3rd/4th February which brought out the crowds to see the amazing display of snowdrops. Thank you to Vivien who organised the event and to everyone who baked a cake or two or who helped on the day. 600 people visited Colesbourne on the Saturday and 830 on the Sunday. Well done all of you – it was a good club turn out. Linda will let us know in due course how much was made for the National Star and other rotary charities.

We are very grateful to our Honorary member, Sir Henry Elwes, forgiving us this opportunity.

Wine Festival Saturday 13 April 2024

Please keep this date free to support the wine festival. Help will also be required to get everything set up early on the Saturday. Can you, or do you know anyone, who could help with lifting some boxes from the car to the hall. Please let Peter or Gill know if you can lend a hand. As you know, we are in a new venue for us – the function room at Cheltenham Ladies College. A map of where to find is on the reverse side of the flyer. There are 25 exhibitors and it should be a really interesting event – please sign up and encourage your friends to come as well.

Moving house

Our President, Kevin, has moved house again – this time to Evesham. We wish him and Pip every happiness in their new home. They should get points for frequent movers.
