                                                     Building a Future with Rotary

The District 1100 Conference inspired Rotarians and their husbands, wives or partners by ‘opening eyes and minds within Rotary and beyond.’

On the Saturday, the Conference opened with Richard Cooper, Chief Constable of West Mercia Police, outlining the challenges of Change in Policing over the last 28 years followed by a question-and-answer section, which was well received by everyone. He set an incredibly high standard in terms of knowledge, understanding and approach to change management. This we can easily link to changes to Rotary, since Paul Harris founded the organisation on February 23rd, 1905. In later years Paul Harris said “this is a changing world; we must be prepared to change with it. The story of Rotary will be written again and again.”

Dave Foster, from Rotary in the Vale, certainly loves a challenge and we will be hearing more from Dave in the next few weeks, when he will be walking 700 miles to raise £20,000 for ShelterBox Disaster Relief – known as ShelterBoots 26. Good luck Dave.

The standard of the speakers over the 2 days was exceptionally high, resulting in a very successful and enjoyable Conference.
