Witney Rotary launches 2026/27 Junior Community Award at Witney Community Primary School

Witney Rotary is delighted to be supporting Year 6 pupils at Witney Community Primary School as they begin this year's Rotary Junior Community Award.

The JCA is a year-long programme designed to encourage young people to build confidence, help others, try new experiences and develop new interests. Pupils work across four areas: Community Service, Social Experiences, Physical Activity and New Skills.

Activities can range from helping neighbours, charities or community projects, to visiting new places, taking part in sport, cooking, crafts, music and learning practical skills. The emphasis is on effort, participation and personal development.

The launch marks the beginning of a story we will follow throughout the school year. Working with the school and the Rotary JCA team, we plan to share regular updates showing some of the pupils' experiences, achievements and contribution to the community - rather than simply reporting the start and finish.

We look forward to seeing where their JCA journey takes them - and to celebrating their achievements later in the year with the pupils, families, school team and everyone from Rotary helping to make the Award happen.
