Sunday saw a very special visit to the children’s ward at Watford General Hospital. Santa, together with chief Elf Ann and a sack full of presents had their photographs taken with the children and presented each child with a gift and a certificate showing they had a personal visit by Santa.
There were lots of smiles and excitement from the children and the nurses and of course Santa didn’t forget the nurses and doctors, gifting them a large box of chocolates and sweets. Chief Elf Ann said how much everyone enjoyed the visit, “ to see the smiles on the children’s faces and taking their minds off the reason why they were in hospital makes it all worthwhile”. David Silverston, PR at Watford Rotary said “ this is the second year we have done this and it is our intention to make this an annual event, just look at the children’s faces, how could we not?”
Emily Theobald on behalf of Watford general said '‘West Herts Hospitals Charity was delighted to be a small part of Watford Rotary’s Father Christmas visit to Starfish Children’s Ward. We are very grateful as the smiles on the children’s faces was just wonderful. Thank you very much to Father Christmas and his Chief Elf.’
